Molting
Note: A metaphor Pete used briefly.
Pete's term for when a wiki or knowledge base has grown too large and messy and needs to be rebuilt from scratch:
Pete: "The term of art I used to use for wikis was molting. It's kind of like a lobster. You get bigger and bigger, and then you have to shed your skin and start over."
The practical approach: use Claude Code to clone the good parts into a new vault, keep the old one as a "museum piece," and start working in the clean space.
Pete: "Let's make a plan for moving into a new space. Let's start cloning stuff over into the new space."
